Kathyn Cockerham and her two beautiful Aussie girls "Blaze" and "Skye" qualified for 2013 AKC National Champions in Tulsa, Oklahoma, both in the same year!

 

 

Vonda and her Springer Spaniel "Rocky" earned their AX Title at the DAWG trial in McKinney. On the same day Rocky earned his MXJ title and got his first Q in Ex B Standard. Vonda and Rocky also took a 2nd place in the highly competitive Ex.B Jumpers 20" class. Rocky has come so far and we couldn't be more proud of them both!

 

 

At the DAWG trial in Nov. Kathryn Cockerham and her 7 year old Aussie "Skye" earned their MACH. They also completed requirements for AKC Nationals next March. This is Skye's 3rd Agility Championship!

 

 

Sam and 6 year old Min-Pin "Pomona" both debuting in Novice for their first competition ever at the DAWG trial in November. They ran their Standard course in 51 seconds and Jumpers With Weaves in 27.02 seconds garnering two first places and two qualifying runs toward their Novice titles. What a grand entrance into the sport!

 

 

January 1, 2012 in Rendon, Kathryn Cockerham and her 6 1/2yr old Aussie, Skye, earned their ASCA ATCH championship title. They also earned their Elite Regular Outstanding, Elite Gambler Outstanding and Elite Jumper Superior titles that same day.

 

 

Michele Albright and her oh so sweet little Yorkie "Millie" won two Q's in McKinney at the Greater Collin County Kennel Club trial! They came home with a big, fat, blue ribbon for 1st place in Time To Beat and Q'd in the Excellent B class Jumpers With Weaves! Way to go!

 

 

Bonnie's three year old Border Collie "Ice" won his Master Agility Championship, or MACH, at the Greater Collin County Kennel Club trial with four Double Q's in a row and all 1st places from the 26" class! Way to go baby Ice!

 

 

Leslie Smith and her precious MIni Aussie "Ozzie" won their 15 Double Q, with four Double Q's in a row at the Dallas Fort Worth English Springer Spaniel trial. They have only been trialing a year and a half! They are very close to their MACH! What a consistent team!

 

 

Oct. 8/9, after only her first three AKC trials, Bronwen and her darling mixed breed "Rex", moved up into both Excellent A Standard and Jumpers in McKinney, TX. Topping it off, they earned two titles in one weekend, placing 2nd and 3rd competing against 27 dogs in their jump height! What a super team to watch!

 

 

The agility gods were very kind to Diane and Dixie at the Dalmation trial! They ran clean for 3 QQ's getting a total of 70 speed points. On Sunday's Standard run, they got the 5 points needed for MACH 2! They also earned the points they needed to qualify for the 2012 AKC Nationals in Reno!

 

 

At the Wichita Falls AKC trial this past weekend, Kathryn Cockerham and her 2 1/2 year old Aussie "Blaze" earned their Open FAST title with 2nd place, along with 2 Excellent A JWW Q's 3rd and 4th place, and 1 Excellent A Standard Q 2nd place.

 

 

At the ASCA trial in Rendon, Vonda Spinks and her young Springer Spaniel "Rocky," won 4 out of 5 first places, earning 2 Novice jumpers Qs and 1 1/2 Novice Standard Qs. Now that's "Springing" into action!

 

 

This past weekend at the Lone Star Poodle Club trial, Kathryn Cockerham and her 5 1/2 year old Aussie "Skye" earned their AKC Masters Agility Jumper title (MXJ) and a 6th Double Q with 3rd in Standard and 5th in Jumpers with Weaves.

 

 

In October 2010 four year old Shih Tzu, "Charlie," owned/handled by Brandi Southwell, earned their MX title, moved into the top 5 Shih Tzus for 2011 AKC Agility Invitational & finished the requirements to qualify for the 2011 AKC Agility National Championships in Lexington, VA. Way to go little pocket rocket!"

 

 

Bonnie and her 2 year old baby Border Collie "Ice" qualified for the 2011 AKC Agility National Championships in April at the Virginia Horse Park in Lexington! To qualify you must have at least 6 Double Q's from the Excellent B class and at least 400 speed points accumulated within a year. You can bet they will be there!

 

 

Diane and her 5 year old border collie MACH “Dixie” qualified for the 2011 AKC National Agility Championships in April at the Virginia Horse Park in Lexington, Virginia. Dixie is now half way through her MACH 2!

 

 

At the Dalmation Club of North Texas trial in Ft Worth, Kathryn Cockerham and her 19 mo. old Aussie, "Blaze", garnered 5 qualifying scores out of 6 attemps earning their Novice Agility title. This was only their second AKC trial!

 

 

This past weekend at the Dallas Metro Golden Retriever trial in Fort Worth Kathryn Cockerham and her 5yr old Aussie "Skye" earned their AKC Excellent A Standard title (AX) with back to back qualifying runs and placements. Her baby dog "Blaze," earned two Q's at her first ever debut in Agility!

 

 

Diana Dann and her one year old Border Collie, "Journey" went to Cloudcroft N.M. for an out of state trial. While he was there he earned his AXJ with two clean runs and two first places! What a birthday gift for him!

 

 

Diane and her beautiful 5 year old BC Dixie, earned their AKC MACH title in Ft. Worth at the Dentex trial in May. We are thrilled with this young team and expect MACH 2 to be around the corner!

 

 

Five PFA students and their Instructor went to the AKC San Antonio trial in downtown SA and came home with over 30 Q's!

 

 

Lisa Bilek and her Flat Coat Retriever "Holly," received 5 Q's in San Antonio at their first AKC trial. 2-JWW's, 2-FAST , 1-Standard. We are very proud of this dynamic duo!

 

 

Cheri Fults and her blazing fast Pomeranian, "Maya" went to SA and it was their first ever AKC trial. They won 7 First Place ribbons, and Q'd 7 out of 9 times. She also titled in Standard. We are so thrilled with this team and know they have BIG things in their future!

 

 

Michelle Albright and her sweet Yorkie Terrier "Millie" received 3 Q's in San Antonio! Millie Q'd in Open Standard on Friday and in JWW Excellent runs on both Saturday and Sunday. Pretty amazing since this dynamic duo only started competing about 6 months ago!

 

 

Seasoned handler Leslie Smith, took her young mini Aussie, "Ozzy" to his first ever AKC show in San Antonio. They got 4 out of 6 Q's and received three 1st places and one 2nd place. One more Q' in Jumpers and Standard and they'll title and be in Open! Leslie took her MACH2 Pomeranian, "Pepe" and he came home with 5 out of 6 Q's and now has enough double Q's for his MACH 3!

 

 

After 11 months of trialing in the AKC venue, 4 yr old Shih Tzu, "Charlie," owned by Brandi Southwell, has achieved both AX & AXJ titles. At his first trial in AKC ExB, with his agility tail flying high, he earned his first double Q towards his MACH!! He's also currently ranked the #12 Shih Tzu in the U.S.

 

 

Marylin Butorac's Pembroke Welsh Corgi, "Henry," had a great weekend Feb. 20/21 at Teacup Agility, earning the fastest time and maximum points in 6 out of 8 events. He was awarded the “High in Trial” ribbon for Corgis!

 

 

Marylin Butorac's Sheltie,Toby, had a great weekend at TKC, earning a 1st and Q in EXA JWW's on Saturday, and a 2nd place, Q in EXA JWW's and his AXJ title, on Sunday. On the same day, he also won a 1st and Q in EXA Standard! What a great dog!

 

 

Straight from the PFA Beginner classes, Diana Dann's darling, BC puppy, "Journey", had only graduated from the program a few short months before beginning to compete. After only three AKC trials, 18 month old Journey is now competing in the AKC Excellent A classes in both Standard and Jumpers, winning 1st place in his first Excellent Standard run!

 

Anne Pullen and her beautiful Aussie, Tiva the Diva, win their AKC Championship title in McKinney on Jan.24, 2010! Yeah MACH Tiva!

 

 

22 month old Border Collie, "Ice", owned by Bonnie Norris, competed at the USDAA Regionals in Ft. Worth and made it to the Finals in Steeplechase, qualifying him for USDAA Nationals in Nov. 2009.

 

 

Sangie Brooks and her 3 yr old Lab, “Lexie” completed her Novice JWW and Novice FAST titles July 10-12 at the AKC Trial in San Antonio. Lexie also got 2 Novice Std Qs and 1 Open FAST Q at the trial. Also, Sangie’s 2yr old Aussie, "Carly" got her first Open JWW Q.

 

 

Kathryn Cockerham and her 4yr old Aussie, "Skye", completed their Open JWW and Open FAST titles July 9-12 at the AKC trial in San Antonio. Skye also got her first Exc A JWW Q with a 1st place on July 12th.

 

 

20 month old Border Collie, "Ice", owned by Bonnie Norris, wins a local Grand Prix and qualifies for both Steeplechase and Grand Prix Regionals!

 

 

After just nine months of trialing, Martha Stone's Papillion rescue, "Monarch," has earned his way into AKC Excellent A Standard and Excellent B Jumpers with ALL first place Q’s!

 

 

In his first AKC trial, 3 year old Shih Tzu, "Charlie," owned and handled by Brandi Southwell, qualified in AKC Novice Standard A with a perfect score and a 1st place ribbon in the 8 inch class!

 

 

Barb Melilo's Aussie, "Coda" earned his title in ASCA Novice Regular Agility. In September of 2007, he earned his first Q towards that goal with a first place finish. Coda earned another first place in January with a time of 35 seconds, and a second place with a time of 36 seconds, giving him 2 more Q's and the title!

 

 

After 10 months of training at Paws for Applause, Marylin’s Sheltie, "Toby", earned his first "Q" in USDAA, finishing his P1 Jumpers course in first place with no faults and a big Sheltie smile.

 

 


At Paws for Applause Dog Agility School, we offer

No prior obedience or training experience is recommended or required to start Beginner classes.

 

Head trainer, Bonnie Norris, is a student of the Awesome Paws Handling System, which is a Motion Based system. Intermediate students will learn the foundations and principles of a Motion Based Handling system. Advanced students will learn technical training and handling techniques within a Motion Based Handling system.

 

Our students compete in USDAA, NADAC and AKC trials and win!
